Candy canes
Red and white twisted together makes a candy cane.

Glass artists twist two colors of glass together to achieve a new color, or to make the striped cane for decorative uses.
Once I started noticing red and white stripes, they popped up everywhere. It was almost like getting a new car and noticing every other car of that make for the next month.
The red needed a strong blue to chill with, and the candy cane series was born.
